About us
C.C.R.O.’s founder, was vacationing in Cuba in November 2000 when he found himself distressed by the impoverished and devastated Cuban Country and yet inspired by the resilience of its people. The 46 years of political and economic strife had not tarnished the quality and integrity of the People of Cuba. When he returned home to Canada C.C.R.O.'s founder enlisted the help of some like-minded friends and began what is known today as the Cuban Community Relief Organization.
In 2001 C.C.R.O. was founded and simultaneously developed its foster parenting program LINKS with the primary focus of linking caring North Americans with a foster child and their family in Cuba. Researching other foster care programs CCRO developed a commitment to stand out by being the only registered charity of our nature that ensures 100% of the money each foster parent sends to their Cuban foster child goes directly to them. The parent organisation, C.C.R.O., committed to raising the funds to cover all the administrative costs. Today we have 27 foster children in Cuba and many times that number waiting for foster parents. If you can help us support one more child and make a dramatic life change please contact us and we would be happy to share more information with you.
C.C.R.O. is a registered Charitable Organization, located in Kitchener-Waterloo via its LINKS subsidiary C.C.R.O. provides access for North American foster parents to become directly involved with Cuban Children.
