Decisions made by adults are not always in the real interests of children.
The community seems to recognise the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. However governments do not always seem willing to meet its requirements. In the Western world, children are embedded in adult marketing strategies and in impoverished countries children are abused both as soldiers and in the workforce. The unmanageable volume of information and propaganda, which is created and precisely targeted by adults, prevents children from concentrating on their own priorities.
Children are unable to protect themselves against the flood of information and propaganda. Above all, children should be encouraged to remain children. Responsible adults should instruct children and in doing so help them to avoid the negative effects of today's aggressive communications.
We are the adults - we should be the responsible ones!
