WHEN A CHILD HOLDS ONTO YOUR HAND, THEY HOLD ONTO YOUR HEART...and that' what happend to me to become so passionate about this charity.Hi I'm Maria, a volunteer in Trivandrum for 6 months helping as best I can to raise money for www.divinechildrens.com .I first got out to India in October 2007 and met Alice Thomas a widowed mother of two who had a vision to help one female prisoner who begged Alice to take care of her son as she felt Alice would give him a better life than she could. Alice took good care of the 2 year old boy Anup and became his Amma.8 years on she is now Mother to 33 kids aged between 1 - 17 yrs old. Receives no govt funding and relies soley on the gererosity of donors far and wide. Alice is an extroadinary woman empowering these children to lead a better life than the one they were first given in a home built wiht love. She has managed by the grace of God to build a new home of theirown, at last, but needs help to fund the costs of day to day living....can you please help in any small way that akes a big different to these wonderfully happy,gorgeous kids?
My mission is to assist Alice in anyway or marketing means I can to give these children what I can to help feed,educate,clothe and continue to house these children in their warm and loving extended family. They all feel they each have 32 other brothers and sisters! I strongly believe that we need to give these children the tools and tips to transorm their little lives to live long and prosper into self confident individuals. They know that Amma/Alice their Mother loves them but how wonderful to show them that the world outside their home loves them too. I love the life I am living and want to help make a difference by heloing them to love the life that they live too.... Namaste to strangers that are friends that I have not yet met.
