Our contact form
I implemented a new feature of Google Docs; you can now create forms using it. Untill we created a good feedback form in our own design, I've implemented the Google Docs form at our contact page.
Google ranking
Our Google ranking seems to increase for the Dutch words 'goede doelen' (charities) and 'goed doel' (charity).
When I searched for those terms Dec 27th 2007, Helpalot showed up on page 21 and 28. Now on March 30, Helpalot shows up on page 10 and 7.
I didn't track 'charity projects in Decembers, but now iwe show up on page 10. Let's see if we can see this grow :).

An interesting article on Facebooks news feeds.
http://chimprawk.blogspot.com/2008/01/social-network-clutter.html
I'm rather new to Facebook and I'm getting tired of it rather quickly, because of the clutter in the newsfeed.
I decided I wanted to share a bit less and changed my 'relationship status' to nothing. A friend immediately assumed I had a relationship with someone and asked what was up with that.
That made even more clear to me that I don't want to share stuff like that on a social network. I don't want to micro-manage my communication to my friends about my current status. I have stuff to do, who knows, perhaps even things I like to keep private.

The next site
While there is still a lot of work to get Helpalot where we want it to be, I have a fair idea of what my next website should do; it should create transparency in products.
When I buy a product, I'd like to know where my money is going to. In what country, under what conditions was this product made. Who where responsible for setting those conditions? What companies does this company work with? What is their track record? What was the impact on the environment?
The site will be global, since we live in a global economy. Like for Helpalot, the site should facilitate people to make it easier to 'do the right thing'. The site will have no opinion on what is right or wrong, it is aimed to give as much (social) context as possible. Leaving the moral choices to you and I, the users of the website.
What do you think of this idea? Do you know websites that are based on the same principles?

The short version; stress is bad. It stops you from creating/holding a mental model of a situation that enables you to think creatively.
