To donate soccer balls to children living in poverty all around the world.
About:
Did you know that millions of children all around the world have never played soccer with a proper ball? Despite this, their love for the sport motivates them to created improvised balls from bundles of plastic bags, or sticks and mud, or some other mixture of available resources. We would like to change this and we need your help!
One of our favorite stories comes from a remote village in the Peruvian Amazon... A large NGO had spent considerable time in this region studying the lifestyle and coming up with ways to improve the standard of living. After presenting their suggestions to the community elders, the elders gathered for a while and finally responded by asking, "Do you have any soccer balls?"
It seems like such a simple donation, but a soccer ball can have a considerable impact on the life of a child. Soccer has the ability to connect people, reduce cultural barriers, build character, and promote peace. Please help Global Futbol Initiatives mission of making soccer with the proper equipment a reality for every child on earth!
We currently have donated soccer balls to impoverished communities in over 20 countries. Our projects are extremely cost-effective as well due to our large network of volunteers and partner organizations, so each donation, no matter how small, has a significant impact on communities.
